Ce projet de loi contribuera \u00e0 assurer une stabilit\u00e9 dans le domaine du divertissement, une industrie qui assure 16 000 emplois pour la population canadienne.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Soixante-quinze pour cent des recettes du cin\u00e9ma et 50 % des recettes des \u00e9missions de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision viennent de sources en aval, soient les ventes de DVD, la c\u00e2blodistribution et les produits pay\u00e9s \u00e0 la carte. Le t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement ill\u00e9gal contribue \u00e0 des pertes importantes et compromet les voies de financement. Les pr\u00eateurs sont moins dispos\u00e9s \u00e0 financer une industrie dont la croissance est instable et, ultimement, cela se traduit par une d\u00e9croissance de l\u2019industrie et des pertes d\u2019emplois canadiens-des \u00e9quipes de tournages, des menuisiers de sc\u00e8nes, dans la restauration et l\u2019h\u00f4tellerie, entre autres. L\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, l\u2019\u00e9quivalent de 12 600 emplois \u00e0 temps plein a \u00e9t\u00e9 perdu en raison du piratage.<\/p>\n<p>Le directeur des affaires canadiennes, John M. Lewis, rappelle que \u00ab Le piratage n\u2019est pas un crime sans victimes. C\u2019est un geste qui va chercher des sommes d\u2019argent directement dans les poches des travailleuses et des travailleurs et il fait d\u00e9croitre le nombre d\u2019emplois disponibles. Voil\u00e0 pourquoi l\u2019AIEST appuie les objectifs du Projet de Loi C-11.
