{"id":3824,"date":"2010-02-04T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-04T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada.iatse.net\/shaw-festival-management-a-no-show-at-conciliation-talks-with-ia-local-461\/"},"modified":"2021-06-11T18:58:38","modified_gmt":"2021-06-11T18:58:38","slug":"shaw-festival-management-a-no-show-at-conciliation-talks-with-ia-local-461","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada.iatse.net\/fr\/shaw-festival-management-a-no-show-at-conciliation-talks-with-ia-local-461\/","title":{"rendered":"LA COMPAGNIE DE GESTION DU FESTIVAL SHAW SE D\u00c9SISTE \u00c0 L\u2019AUDIENCE DE CONCILIATION AVEC LA SECTION LOCALE 461"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Les repr\u00e9sentants de la section Locale 461 de l\u2019Alliance Internationale, en attente d\u2019une conclusion apr\u00e8s plus d\u2019un an de n\u00e9gociation pour trois contrats collectifs avec la Fondation du Festival Shaw, se sont vus refus\u00e9s une conclusion heureuse quand le groupe de gestion Shaw a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de ne pas se pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 l\u2019audition de conciliation tel que pr\u00e9vu aujourd\u2019hui.<\/p>\n<p>Alors que les relations de travail ont toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 bonnes pendant plus de 25 ans entre l\u2019AIEST et le Festival Shaw durant les nombreuses n\u00e9gociations de contrat pour les employ\u00e9s de production, de services aux salles et des installations. Cette fois-ci, elles sont rompues suite \u00e0 la volont\u00e9 du Festival d\u2019\u00e9liminer les avantages sociaux des travailleurs et travailleuses pr\u00e9pos\u00e9s aux installations, et ce, sans aucune compensation.<\/p>\n<p>En d\u00e9cembre 2009, le Festival a fait une demande de conciliation tout en mena\u00e7ant les membres de l\u2019AIEST de faire une gr\u00e8ve patronale pour l\u2019unit\u00e9 de n\u00e9gociation des installateurs. Les contrats des employ\u00e9s de production et des services aux salles sont expir\u00e9s depuis novembre 2008, et il fut d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de pr\u00e9senter les trois contrats de travail \u00e0 la table de conciliation en m\u00eame temps.<\/p>\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui, les repr\u00e9sentants de l\u2019AIEST se sont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019audition pr\u00eats \u00e0 n\u00e9gocier et \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre leurs diff\u00e9rends. La compagnie de gestion du Festival a choisi de ne pas se pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 l\u2019audience, mais plut\u00f4t d\u2019envoyer un avocat junior \u00e0 leur place avec des instructions pr\u00e9cises de demander au conciliateur d\u2019\u00e9mettre un rapport recommandant de ne pas instituer de commission de conciliation en rapport aux trois contrats, notant que l\u2019on ne peut en pr\u00e9sager la fin. Ceci mettra la compagnie de gestion du Festival dans une situation de gr\u00e8ve patronale l\u00e9gale \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des membres de l\u2019AIEST dans approximativement 14 jours \u00e0 partir de la r\u00e9ception du rapport du conciliateur.<\/p>\n<p>Doug Ledingham , le pr\u00e9sident de la section locale 461, bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, a promis son soutien \u00e0 tous les membres de la section locale. Il a dit : \u201cCes travailleurs en installations ont des emplois r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s \u00e0 11 $ de l\u2019heure, et il y en a qui sont employ\u00e9s par le Festival depuis plus de 20 ans. Nous avons gagn\u00e9 le droit de les repr\u00e9senter et nous n\u2019accepterons en aucun temps des r\u00e9ductions de salaire ou d\u2019 avantages sociaux.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Le Festival Shaw a publi\u00e9 son rapport annuel pour l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2009, d\u00e9montrant que le Festival sera dans une meilleure position financi\u00e8re pour la saison 2010 comparativement \u00e0 l\u2019an dernier, en partie gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 plusieurs dons importants re\u00e7us r\u00e9cemment. Le Festival a un impact \u00e9conomique estim\u00e9 \u00e0 $76.6 millions par an, attirant approximativement 78,300 visiteurs au cours de la saison, pr\u00e9s de la moiti\u00e9 provenant de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur du Canada.
