MONTR\u00c9AL, QC, 9 mai \u2013 Le 6 mai, la section locale 56 de l\u2019IATSE a gagn\u00e9 l\u2019accr\u00e9ditation pour l\u2019Arena des Canadiens. La section locale avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 depuis un certain temps une entente avec le Centre Bell pour toutes les repr\u00e9sentations th\u00e9\u00e2trales, mais elle fournissait aussi, sous la m\u00eame entente, la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre pour les matchs de hockey. L\u2019ar\u00e9na de hockey qui compte 21 273 places et qui avait ouvert ses portes en 1996 sous le nom de Centre Molson est une des pi\u00e8ces maitresses du divertissement \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al. Le Centre accueille les plus grandes tourn\u00e9es, les matchs du WWE et, bien s\u00fbr, il est la demeure des Canadiens de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9cemment, des questions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 soulev\u00e9es quant aux appels plac\u00e9s pour les matchs de hockey, et l\u2019\u00e9quipe de hockey ainsi que l\u2019ar\u00e9na d\u00e9claraient tous les deux ne pas \u00eatre l\u2019employeur et que l\u2019entente ne couvrait pas la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre pour les matchs. En r\u00e9plique, la section locale 56 avec l\u2019aide du fonds de d\u00e9fense de l\u2019Alliance internationale a d\u00e9pos\u00e9 une requ\u00eate en accr\u00e9ditation en nommant l\u2019\u00e9quipe de hockey Canadiens de Montr\u00e9al. Les parties ont conclu une entente pour l\u2019accr\u00e9ditation et l\u2019employeur est l\u2019Arena des Canadiens plut\u00f4t que l\u2019\u00e9quipe m\u00eame. Une nouvelle convention collective a \u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9goci\u00e9e.
