TORONTO, ON \u2013 La section locale 58 de l\u2019IATSE vient d\u2019\u00e9largir son autorit\u00e9 avec deux employeurs existants : Harbourfront Centre et l\u2019Artscape. Les machinistes du Fleck Dance Theatre localis\u00e9 dans le Harbourfront Centre ont approch\u00e9 la section locale 58 afin d\u2019\u00eatre repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s. La section locale a donc d\u00e9pos\u00e9 le 4 avril dernier une requ\u00eate en accr\u00e9ditation aupr\u00e8s de la Commission des relations de travail de l\u2019Ontario. La section locale 58 a aussi commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler avec les machinistes de l\u2019Artscape Sandbox et une requ\u00eate en accr\u00e9ditation a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9pos\u00e9e le 11 avril. Les scrutins ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tenus \u00e0 une semaine d\u2019intervalle et les machinistes des deux salles ont vot\u00e9 par une majorit\u00e9 \u00e9crasante pour une repr\u00e9sentation de la section locale 58 de l\u2019IATSE.<\/p>\n

Ce sont deux salles importantes de la mosa\u00efque culturelle torontoise. Le Fleck Dance Theatre, qui peut recevoir 446 spectateurs, est un th\u00e9\u00e2tre \u00e0 l\u2019italienne habituellement utilis\u00e9 pour des spectacles de danse ou de th\u00e9\u00e2tre. Il est un \u00e9l\u00e9ment essentiel des multiples repr\u00e9sentations culturelles offertes par le Harbourfront Centre. Le Sandbox ressemble plut\u00f4t \u00e0 une toile vierge de 6000 pieds carr\u00e9s qui invite \u00e0 la personnalisation et aux possibilit\u00e9s cr\u00e9atrices. La salle est r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement utilis\u00e9e tant pour les performances artistiques et les productions de th\u00e9\u00e2tre que pour les rencontres sociales et les \u00e9v\u00e8nements professionnels.<\/p>\n

Le 27 avril, la Commission des relations de travail a accr\u00e9dit\u00e9 la section locale 58 pour les deux salles. Les nouveaux membres IATSE se r\u00e9jouissent \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019\u00eatre repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 et ont h\u00e2te de d\u00e9marrer les n\u00e9gociations pour leur premi\u00e8re entente collective.\u00a0
