Les assureurs refusant d'assurer les productions cin\u00e9matographiques nationales en raison des fermetures ou des arr\u00eats de travail li\u00e9s au COVID, le gouvernement du Canada a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le Fonds d'indemnisation \u00e0 court terme (FICT) afin de s'assurer que les productions audiovisuelles canadiennes puissent continuer \u00e0 tourner. En f\u00e9vrier 2021, le gouvernement a prolong\u00e9 le Fonds jusqu\u2019en 2021\u20112022 et doubl\u00e9 le financement jusqu\u2019\u00e0 100 millions de dollars, de sorte que, pendant la p\u00e9riode de pointe de production du printemps et de l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 de cette ann\u00e9e, les cin\u00e9astes et les producteurs aient acc\u00e8s \u00e0 ce filet de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 essentiel, ce qui r\u00e9duit les risques financiers auxquels les productions sont expos\u00e9es au milieu des fermetures caus\u00e9es par la COVID\u201119.   • Au printemps 2021, le FICT avait permis un volume de production d'environ 1,2 milliard de dollars.<\/li>
