VANCOUVER, CB<\/strong> -<\/strong> Les travailleurs-euses du cin\u00e9ma de l'Okanagan ont ratifi\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re convention collective avec la section locale 891 de l'AIEST et Champlain Media West (CMW), avec 93% des votes en faveur de cet accord historique. C'est le premier accord pluriannuel que la section locale 891 a sign\u00e9 avec une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de production individuelle en dehors du conseil des syndicats du cin\u00e9ma de la Colombie-Britannique (BC Council of Film Unions), et c'est un grand pas pour faire progresser les possibilit\u00e9s de production cin\u00e9matographique nationale syndiqu\u00e9e.<\/p>

\u201cL'AIEST 891 a obtenu un premier contrat \u00e9quitable qui aura un impact imm\u00e9diat. Il \u00e9tablit des salaires minimums, des indemnit\u00e9s journali\u00e8res pour les lieux de tournage \u00e9loign\u00e9s, des paiements pour la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre, les REER et les indemnit\u00e9s de vacances, et bien s\u00fbr, il permet aux travailleurs d'avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une repr\u00e9sentation syndicale\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la repr\u00e9sentante d\u2019affaires Crystal Braunwarth, qui a agi en tant que n\u00e9gociatrice principale pour cet accord historique.\u00a0<\/p>

Sano, organisateur principal, et Conor Moore, organisateur, se sont consacr\u00e9s aux travailleurs-euses de la r\u00e9gion au cours des trois derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es et ont ouvert la voie aux n\u00e9gociations contractuelles. M. Sano a expliqu\u00e9 que l'on n'arrive pas au stade de la n\u00e9gociation avec un employeur sans une bonne dose de syndicalisation \u00e0 la base. \"Ces travailleurs luttent depuis plus d'un an pour que Kelowna devienne une ville syndiqu\u00e9e pour les \u00e9quipes de tournage. Cette victoire appartient aux travailleurs.\"\u00a0<\/p>

Le pr\u00e9sident de l'AIEST 891, Mitch Davies, a exprim\u00e9 ses encouragements pour le nouvel accord et ce que cela signifie pour les travailleurs-euses du cin\u00e9ma non repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s, tout en souhaitant la bienvenue \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 de Kelowna. \"Ces travailleurs ont envoy\u00e9 un message fort : tous les artistes et techniciens du cin\u00e9ma de l'Int\u00e9rieur m\u00e9ritent un contrat juste et \u00e9quitable.
