Local 118 v. Christie Lites (Vancouver) [2003] B.C.L.R.B.D. No. 315 (BC Labour Relations Board)

The local applied for certification but lacked the requisite 45% membership support required for a representation vote.  The local sought disclosure of the IRO’s report arguing that the IRO had included employees who did not have a continuing interest in the bargaining unit.  The Board found that the local had failed to provide specific reasons and materials that would bring the IRO’s report into question to the extent that it might bring the local within the 45% of membership support required for a vote.
