Whether you’re working for a small shop or a national vendor, an independent producer or a major studio, an AV shop or at a trade show, a local TV station or a national television network, an animation house or a gaming studio, a local community theatre or a regional theatre, we are the union for you!
IATSE represents over 36,000 workers in Canada. Our members receive strong representation, good wages, training, benefits and overall better working conditions.

Acting/Stunts: IATSE only represents behind the scenes workers. If you are interested in acting or stunt work in Canada, you should reach out to ACTRA for film/television or Actors’ Equity for theatre.
Directing: IATSE does not represent directors in Canada. If you are interested in directing you should reach out directly to the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC).
Writing: IATSE does not represent writers in Canada. If you are interested in screenwriting, you should reach out directly to the Writers Guild of Canada (WGC).
