Local 471 v. Universal Converts Canada and NASCO [1997] O.L.R.D. No. 2188 (Ontario Labour Relations Board)

Local 471 alleged that there had been a sale of business from Concert Productions International (CPI) to MCA Concerts Canada (subsequently renamed Universal Concerts Canada) and that an agreement existing before the sale was applicable to Universal.  The Board found that at the time of sale Universal was bound to a collective agreement with local 471.  One member of the panel disagreed with the majority decision and found that the documents entered into by local 471 were not a collective agreement under the Act.
