Local 357 v. Stratford Shakespearean Festival of Canada [2003] O.L.R.D. No. 2836 (Ontario Labour Relations Board)

Application for certification (second of two decisions).  It was shown that the local had previously been recognized as a trade union within the meaning of the Act.  However, the current name referred to “Moving Picture Technicians” while the prior name referred to “Motion Picture Machine Operators” and did not include the reference to “Artists and Allied crafts”.  The Board directed that the local file additional materials demonstrating its status as a trade union.
