Local 828 v. National Ballet of Canada [2004] O.L.R.D. No. 3180 (Ontario Labour Relations Board)

Application for certification (second of two decisions).  No representations were filed with the Board.  On the taking of the representation vote, more than fifty percent of the ballots were cast in favour of the local.  The Board issued a certificate for “all employees of the National Ballet of Canada engaged as scenic artists and prop makers in the City of Toronto, save and except production manager and persons above the rank.”  As a point of clarity, the Board stated that the bargaining unit did not include larger props built by a stage carpenter.
