REGINA, SK, March 13 – On February 16, 2012, Local 295 and Partners in Motion Inc. entered into a joint settlement agreement which confirmed that the certification for Partners in Motion Inc. be replaced with Partners in Motion Corporate Productions Inc.
The process has been a long one. The local won a certification application with the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board in 2009 and subsequently negotiated its first collective agreement with Partners in Motion. A dispute arose between the parties as to the scope of the collective agreement, resulting in proceedings before the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board.
On February 15, discussions took place between Local 295 and Partners in Motion, which resulted in the settlement agreement and a joint submission to the Board the following day. The Board agreed and issued its certification order on February 17.
Both parties have agreed that the collective agreement originally negotiated with Partners in Motion Inc. shall now apply, without modification of any terms or conditions, to Partners in Motion Corporate Productions Inc. and shall cover all of their commercial productions.
